Poem for Mental Health Awareness Week

 Inspired by Prince Willy
I rang the Mental Health
Thinking I could do with
A bit of that myself

(Don’t get me wrong – they know me
I’ve been in several times
I first asked for help
in Two Thousand and Nine)

With G.A.D. and B.P.D.
I’ve been diagnosed
But when I get my therapy
No-one seems to know

The kind lady assured me
That I’m still on the list
“Keep taking your pills,” she said
“And try not to get pissed”

“There’s 27 others
Before you in the queue
I wouldn’t get my hopes up
Dear, if I were you.”
