This song won the 2013 Watford Folk Song Competition! It tells the story of my friend, a painter and decorator from Cavan, Ireland, who I met in Islington in the 80s.
One of the first duets I wrote, this marked the beginning of a very productive co-writing partnership with Johnny Black – “Black*Scarr”
This was filmed by a lake in Spain in 2010. It’s a strange setting for a song about a plucky barmaid who decides to stay in Camden Town. “Mary’s Going Nowhere” is a song from my first CD, “Angel Way.”
